The Penn Ohio Golf Trail

The Penn Ohio Golf Trail features over 75 courses, including 11 private country clubs in Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. The courses offer a variety of challenges, designers, style and appeal for golfers of all skill levels.
The four historic mansions on the trail offer the most unique lodging in golf. Sleeping up to 36 golfers, the mansions have large gathering areas, big screen TV's, pool tables, shuffle boards, full kitchens, and the ability to share the camaraderie and fun that isn't available in other types of lodging.

Firestone Country Club

Every corner of Firestone Country Club carries the presence of incredible golf history. From the first tournament hosted here in 1954 to the PGA and SPGA's long relationship with the club, notable champions like Tommy Bolt, Arnold Palmer and Tom Nieporte all staked their claim to fame on our famous courses, bunkers and fairways. These spectacular golf courses are sure to draw you into their historic mystique as you wind your way around the beautifully arranged holes.

Akron Golf Guide

Akron Located in the Great Lakes Region of the Buckeye State, Akron sits 39 miles south of Lake Erie. In addition to its proximity to this Great Lake and all of its waterborne attractions, Akron also features many highlights within its city limits.

Akron Art Museum is one of the premier regional museums in the country, featuring works from the likes of Chuck Close and Andy Warhol, as well as the works of Ohio artists such as Elmer Novotny. At Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, visitors can explore a fabulous historic house-museum and country estate, and the Akron Zoo is bound to do what all good zoos do-bring smiles the faces of visitors.

The golf in and around Akron also is prone to induce smiles. With 20 public and six private courses in the region, the Akron area certainly gives traveling golfers plenty of options. Barberton Brookside Country Club, located in Norton, serves up some of the most intriguing greens in the region, as well as featuring rolling hills and pleasant views. The distance on the card won't intimidate players, but the course's length belies its difficulty.

Brookledge Golf Club, an Arthur Hills design located in Cuyahoga Falls, delivers a worthwhile round that will not punish players who are simply looking to enjoy their rounds. Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club, located in Hudson, may be the best of the area's courses, delivering plenty of bang for the buck, and its ponds and stream demand accuracy.
