By Fred Altvater
The Toledo, Ohio area is rich in golf history and one of the area's more hidden secrets, is that, it is the home for Arthur Hills, who is responsible for designing and renovating over 300 courses worldwide.
Hills very first designs were in Toledo at Brandywine Country Club and Detwiler Park Golf Club, plus he renovated The Inverness Club in 1999. His designs can be seen around the world, and golfers in Michigan and Ohio are privileged to see his very finest creations.
For the first time several of these courses are banding together to create the Arthur Hills Golf Trail, a golfing experience that rivals any destination.
The courses are all within a short drive of each other and the Toledo area offers several options for accommodations.
The Legacy, Stonebridge and Leslie Park are in Michigan, less than an hour's drive from Toledo. Stone Ridge and Maumee Bay State Park are nearby in Ohio, plus all are immaculately maintained offering the best possible golf experience.
With greens fees below the national average, The Arthur Hills Golf Trail makes the perfect Buddy's golf trip or Girl's Getaway. Various options for accommodations and spa packages are available to fit any budget.
